Bob was born in Selma, AL and grew up in Lake Charles, LA. He received Christ as his personal savior after returning to Selma following high school graduation.

He is a graduate of Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham, AL and received his Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bob has pastored churches in Alabama and Texas and pastored Carroll Baptist Church in Southlake for 37 years.

He also served on the Gender Issues Task Force for the Southern Baptist Convention and later as the National Strategist for Gender Issues. In 2012 he established Family and Gender Issues Ministries. Bob has a heart for people dealing with brokenness and addictions.

He is married to Dell who taught in the Carroll Independent School District for 30 years. Currently she is the director of the Southlake Baptist Church afterschool program.  They have one son, Rob, who is married to Angie. They have 3 sons, all of whom are Christ followers.

Bob and Dell are very thankful for the  warm and supportive fellowship of Southlake Baptist and for a pastor who encourages every member to reach his or her full potential in knowing and serving Christ.
